The November issue of Stroll Firethorne is out, and the entire edition is online and free to read.

The cover goes to the women who have made mah jongg a weekly habit at the Country Club of the Carolinas, formerly Firethorne Country Club. This month's Meet Your Neighbors pulls up a chair with the group, which began about 12 years ago when Andree Manheimer started teaching friends from the club to play, and now has games on Monday afternoons, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The story also explains the gong, the little ducks and a fourth player named Bob, who is never actually there.

A few other stories worth turning to first.

Precious Pets goes to Catering To Cats & Dogs, the foster-based rescue Stroll Ballantyne Country Club profiled in October. Making a Difference goes to Crisis Assistance Ministry, which helped 44,000 people with emergency housing assistance last fiscal year, and carries news that CEO Carol Hardison will retire soon after 26 years. And the Resident Recipe page wants your family's holiday recipes.

Three dates worth putting in the calendar now. The Stroll Holiday Party, for readers of both our magazines, is this Thursday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Zinicola in Ballantyne Village, and you can RSVP here. Light The Night, the blood cancer walk, is Saturday, Nov. 14. And the monthly meetup for neighborhood business owners is Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the AC Ballantyne hotel lobby bar.

The PDF carries the whole issue. Not everything in it runs as its own story on the site, including the Everyday Law column, the Athlete of the Month and Young Achiever call and The Firethorne Feed. A partner spotlight on Social Pet Hotel and Daycare is coming to the site later this month.

And as always, the issue runs on our neighborhood partners. The businesses in the directory are the reason this magazine reaches your door. When you need a roofer, a mover, or somewhere to board the dog, start there, and thank them when you get the chance.

Read the full November edition: read the November 2026 issue of Stroll Firethorne online, or download the PDF.

Catching up? October is online too. Happy November, neighbors.
