About Firethorne

Firethorne is a master-planned community of roughly 1,200 homes straddling the border of Marvin and Waxhaw in Union County, North Carolina. Developed beginning in the early 2000s, the neighborhood sits along Providence Road South, about 20 miles south of Uptown Charlotte. Residents are zoned for Union County Public Schools, primarily Marvin Ridge High School, Marvin Ridge Middle School, and Sandy Ridge Elementary, consistently among the top-rated public schools in the Charlotte metro.

The community is anchored by Firethorne Country Club, a private club offering an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Hale Irwin, a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse, tennis and pickleball courts, a junior Olympic swimming pool, and a full-service fitness center. The club hosts year-round social programming, from wine dinners and holiday galas to summer swim meets and junior golf clinics.

Firethorne's HOA manages common areas, enforces architectural standards, and coordinates community-wide events. Annual dues cover landscaping of common areas, neighborhood entrance maintenance, and access to the community trail system, a network of walking paths connecting neighborhoods to the club, the village center, and nearby parks.

The Firethorne Neighborhood at a Glance

Firethorne spans several distinct sections, each with its own character. The original phases along Firethorne Parkway feature estate-sized lots with mature hardwoods. The Courtyards offer low-maintenance living for empty nesters. The Preserve backs up to protected wetlands. And the newest sections along Waxhaw-Marvin Road brought a wave of young families starting around 2018.
