Out here, a free evening usually means the porch. Next Thursday there is a better offer one neighborhood up the road.
Stroll Into Wellness runs Thursday, September 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Stephenson Room at Ballantyne Country Club, hosted by our sister publication Strolling Ballantyne. It appeared in our August issue because the invitation includes Firethorne, Marvin and the Waxhaw side. It is free and open to all, and an RSVP by Tuesday, September 1, helps with planning, but nobody is checking names at the door.
Some of who will be in the room: skin and beauty studios like Dermani, Younique by MK and Nourish & Nurture Esthetics, plus Le Petit Spa, which helped sponsor Ballantyne's first Sip and Stroll. King Tut Chiropractic and The Muscle Engineer, a mobile massage practice, cover the aches; MyoMovement and Aptare Lab cover movement and performance. MUSC Health will have a table, and Haus Haven Collective will talk you through making a home safer to grow older in. Palm Berries South Charlotte is bringing smoothie bowls. That is a sample, not the roster.
The evening runs on wandering: music, light refreshments, raffles, door prizes and a cash bar, with tables staffed by people who can actually answer the question you have been meaning to ask about sleep or knees or skin.
And if you want evidence the drive pays off, May's Sip and Stroll drew more than 300 neighbors to the same club's event lawn. This one lands at the start of fall, with a drive home before nine.
